Welcome to the EPiCentre!Capgeminis EPiCentre (Exploration and Production Industry Competence) is a national Centre of Excellence initiative to mobilize and leverage the unique experience, industry competence and capabilities acquired from 30 years close cooperation with key operators and services companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The Capgemini EPiCentre provides the oil and gas industry with subject matter expertise, experience and lessons learned from business critical upstream and midstream projects. The CoE domain experts include business analysts, solution architects as well as senior application developers with experience from various technical platforms.

The centre do focus on four industry areas:
Integrated Operations, with a focus on information management and process improvements.

• Asset Lifecycle Management, covering asset tracking, documentation and maintenance and modification needs.
• Subsurface applications, where the centre has competence from development and integration of the major ISV applications.
• Oil and Gas Trading and Operations, managing the wet value chain from reservoir to end user.
  

Capgemini has served the Norwegian Oil and Gas industry through 30 years. Our competence and experience from developing specialized industry applications complement our experience from implementing standard applications. Our industry advisors and information architects advice organisations on how they best can utilise their investment in standard applications, and how to best extend functionality when business needs require specialised applications to be developed - and integrated.

 

The CoE industry and subject matter experts are located in all our regional offices, both in Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo. They are teaming up in the centre to offer their significant insight and offer the industry opportunities to discuss and develop industry initiatives in both the technology and business domain.

Our experience, projects and references from the norwegian oil and gas industry are gathering significant interest internationally. Capgemini Norway is actively advicing and supporting initiatives in the Exploration and Production hotspots all over the world. The EPiCentre will host information and knowledge exchange with foreign national oil companies (NOCs) and support international initiatives wherever required.

Capgemini is actively contributing to research and standardisation initiatives globally as well as spesific initiatives for the oil and gas industry. Examples are the design, development and hosting of OLFs EnvironmentWeb. The recent work as contributing member of the Integrated Information Platform (IIP) project, where Capgemini led the technical development of additions to WITSML that will facilitate reporting of the NPD/PSA required Daily Drilling Report through a web services concept. Our work in the oil and gas industry has a high focus on collaboration and services enabling of  the core industry applications and information flows. Our technology neutrality allows us to consider and recommend strategies, solutions and technology to olur customers without any product bias. Our work in international standards bodies provides insight into trends and opportunities that may benefit our customers. A centre from the EPiCentre is the recently published paper on Services oriented Architecture for Integrated Operations, available form the centre on request.
